Laser Cut Paintings
By precisely calibrating a laser cutter, I experimented with etching through paint without piercing the canvas below, revealing the potential of combining analog and digital mark-making in a unique way.
These explorations led to a series of paintings and a solo exhibition, Lockdown Paintings, at Seattle’s CORE Gallery in July of 2020.
While I value the creative process developed here, I recognize that painting takes years to master, and I lack the experience to call myself a skilled painter, but these experiments reinforced my belief in the exciting potential of blending traditional and digital techniques as a means of pushing creative boundaries.
