Online Teaching
When the Covid pandemic began in the spring of 2020, I quickly embraced the possibilities of online teaching. Drawing on my experience as an online digital tutorial creator, I modified several courses, including Introduction to Computers in Architecture, 3D Modeling and Rendering, and Computational Geometry. These courses were so well-received that I was honored with the part-time Instructor of the Year award for the 2020-21 academic year. Additionally, we established a service bureau within the Department of Architecture, enabling us to offer laser cutting and 3D printing services for students. The work shown at the bottom of this page is from the online version of Introduction to Digital Fabrication. The curriculum shifted from hands-on learning to a more theoretical approach, where students were tasked with proposing a digitally fabricated roundabout sculpture, drawing on their understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various machines, materials, and fabrication processes.
